How to Draw Doodle Gems Episode 8: Rose Quartz
Welcome to Episode 8 of my How to draw Doodle Gems Series. This time is a sweet little Rose Quartz Heart. The Gem is first up on the video in real time and at 17.46 mins the doodle lace frame for the heart is done in real time too!
Doodling and coloring are 2 things that are great for calming down and reconnecting with yourself for a little while. Take some time to relax and make something beautiful!
This project was done with Crayola Color Pencils. (Mauve, Cerulean Blue, Magenta, Pale Rose, Bubblegum Pink, Salmon Pink, Rose Pink and White) I have the 50 pack that I picked up on Amazon for less than $20 (in March of 2016). The doodle frame is drawn with a Sakura Pigma Micron Pen and the highlights are done with the Signo Uniball White Gel pen.

Realtime Tutorial Doodle Zen gems, Episode 2: Opal Gem Flower
Welcome to Episode 2 in my Doodle Gem, Zen Gem, Zentangle Gem Tutorial, How to draw Series.
In this episode we are exploring Opals. I use an image of an Opal from the Lightning Ridge Opal Mine in Australia as my inspiration. Just Google Search to find an opal that you like!
We start with a fun doodle flower and that is inked with a Pigma Micron 01 Pen on Neenah 110 lb bright white cardstock paper.
The color in this project was all done with Crayola Color Pencils. Yes, really! I Show you step by step what I did to make this Gem! Coloring, blending, shading. I do share what I'm thinking about the drawing and the pencils as I go through the process. Then I speed color the doodle. The whole project took about 1 hour.

This sweet painting took about 2 hours to do and I have sped it up about 4 times. Fast enough to get done in about half an hour slow enough that you can still see what I am doing!

I have used assorted brushes- what ever would get the job done.

Time to go through the Looking Glass
Hello all!
This week I"m participating in a wonderful Art Crawl on Youtube: Through the Looking Glass hosted by Artsplorations with Mark Muir.
14 Youtube Artists are pulling out all the stops and taking you on an adventure! You'll meet many characters and see sights never seen before There are paintings, soft sculpture, Pen and Ink drawings, and even Polymer Clay. This is not a Disney Wonderland. :)
I am doing a Soft Sculpture Dormouse with a bonus video of how to make a cardboard Teapot just for added measure! You even have access to a PDF Pattern of the Dormouse that I drew up. This is the actual pattern I used to make this Dormouse. Though on the one in the video I left off the back legs since the video was getting long and the Dormouse sits inside the teapot!
