I'm thinking about doing this little girl up as an embroidery design. I haven't decided yet on that.
I actually did the original as a Going Away (Miss You) card for a coworker who is leaving to go help her mom in Texas..
I had fun stepping out of my box and trying a different style. Pen and ink and colored with watercolor pencils.
This is the first of a few I plan on trying out. :) Or maybe I should crawl back in to my box?
Remember to get out and do something creative!

Your girl is just adorable - so sweet! You did a great job with her. You are already so good with faces. She would definitely look good as embroidery or just by herself!
Thanks for your comment on my blog too. I really appreciate what you said! Hugs!

First of all, thank you so much for stopping by my little space and leaving the nice comment!
This is a sweet illustration for your coworker :) I just recently broke into my watercolor pencils and LOVE THEM!! They add such a dreamy effect, don't you think? Like little Miss'pinky-red locks...very sweet! I say, try this one out AND anything else that sparks your imagination!! (No crawling in boxes, please!) haha Namaste--
Tara :)
SWEET!!
She's darling! If this is outside of your box, you can certainly jump outside any time you want. ;)
Your girl is adorable! Lovely work! :)
she is lovely! if crawling back in a box means quitting this drawing, DO NOT DO IT! we need you out of th box and showing us these things.
Now why in the world would you EVER want to go crawl back into your box? Even if this was horrible, it's you exploring and playing and making art that expresses yourself and you should never let anyone INCLUDING YOURSELF, tell you to climb back in the box! That said, this is WONDERFUL! I love it. I hope to learn how to make nice faces and hair. Your outfit in black and white is a great foil to the face. I keep looking from one to the other. Great job.
Hi Stefanie,
Definitely step out of the box. You are too talented to stay in it and besides it much more fun to try different things.
I love your girl. She makes me smile just looking at her. I am sure your coworked was thrilled to get her.
My husband gave me a wonderful set of watercolor pencils one year for Christmas. If you know any neat tricks for using them, I'l love to learn more about them.
Thank you for all of your kind comments on my blog. It is so nice to make new connections. Have a great week.
No, don't crawl back in your box! She's beautiful! And I reckon she would stitch up beautifully. (How many tea towels do you need in your house...?!)
