Create Art--Embroidery

I (heart) Embroidery. I have been working on developing my own patterns for embroidery--This is a new outlet for my creative juices who knows where it will go?...

I think everyone has the ability to create art. For me making time, enjoying the process and doing something original is one of the most enjoyable things that I can do with my time.

Here's my newest tea towel. I drew up the Zen Tangle Heart and then transferred it to the tea towel and stitched it up.

I really enjoyed this project. I usually don't do multiple colors in my Tangles so this was an interesting exercise.

What do you think??

remember to do something creative!

Very ornate & beautiful. Brown is a favorite color of mine.

I admire your patience. I have tried embroidery & patience is a quality I lack, I'm afraid ;-)

This is gorgeous! I like the modern design contrasted in such an age-old art form. Keep this up! I can't wait to see more.

I love how you combined "art forms"! I've seen tangles and I've seen embroidery -- but never both together! And as Kat said, it's really cool how you've combined an old tradition with modern art. I haven't looked at your blog enough to know if you sell your work -- but you sure could sell these :)

Hi Stephanie

This is the prettiest Zentangle I've ever seen - love the design, colors, and wow, it's embroidered too!

Thanks for visiting me at Create With Joy - I really appreciate your feedback on my creative space!

Okay, first of all, Zentangles always stun me because they just flow but I know how challenging they can be to allow the forms to emerge. Add to that embroidery? OMG! I agree with everyone else: fantastic design, love the use of red AND you translated it into embroidery?! Fantastic!

I too love the way you have combined two creative outlets. The tea towel is truly beautiful. I am not sure I have the patience or the eyes to complete either type of art but you have inspired me to try. Have a wonderful day.

Hi Stephanie, thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I think this tea towel is beautiful! I love how you combined zentangles with embroidery. I just did my first zentangle this month and they are so much fun! I especially love the leaf design you created inside your heart. very pretty!

That's gorgeous! I've enlarged for a better look and am so impressed with your stitching as well as the design. The calligraphy is beautiful.

That is a truly inspiring zentagle, it's very beautiful! :) Well done for making the time. My last embroidery project was a gift I gave to a friends 60th Birthday. It was thoroughly enjoyable to do, and the message was significant and full of meaning. Can be found on my flickr album on my site, if you are ever eager to look under the 2009 craft projects.
