My Girl Embroidery

Yeah! I DID IT!!

I took the last piece of art that I shared in my blog and used that as the pattern for this embroidered little girl.

I'm especially happy with the hair and the pattern on her top. I have a long way to go on my embroidery but I know the only way to get better is to keep working on it. It's so fun to find old skills and brush them up and being them into the 21st century!

I love the summer break time from work. It gives me such a creative boost to be able to get up when I want (just a tiny bit later than my regular work day) I get a chance to look at others' blogs and make comments and to share what I have been doing. I love the feedback I get from all of you too!

Thanks for looking. :.) Remember to get out and do something creative today.

You did a fantastic job, Stephanie! I especially like her eyes and the design on her dress. Very impressive transposing from a drawing to embroidery :)

Hi Stephanie, Wonderful! I think you did a great job translating your festive design into embroidery. It's neat that you're pursuing creative hand embroidery.

I love these embroidery pieces you are doing. I don't know if I would have thought to do something similar. I tried a little embroidery a while back, and I liked it, but I haven't done it lately.

She came out great! I love seeing the drawings turn into embroidery. Nice job.:) Isn't it fun to "translate" from one medium to another?

Beautiful! Your embroidery skills are doing just fine! Actually your tea towels have inspired me to do a little embroidery too, and I hope to show the results within the week...
I used to be a lecturer and well remember that summer holiday feeling. It's almost like you can never really relax the rest of the year. There's always something you could be doing. But when summer comes around you're done! Enjoy it. You deserve it!
