How to draw Snowflake Obsidian Doodlegem Tutorial ep 43

Here we go! Snowflake Obsidian Doodlegem is the stone of the day!

This stone was a request by a lovely community member on my previous video for the January Garnet Birthstone.

I LOVE our community of creative people we have here on Youtube, and especially the folks that come and hang out with me in the comments after watching my videos. :) This viewer had said that she loves snowflake obsidian and would like to learn how to draw it up. I fell in love with this stone. It is really easy to do and gives you a lot of bang for your time. It comes together quickly with very few pencils needed.

Here's the list of materials I used:
Neenah 110lb cardstock Solar White - You can use any paper that you have available!

White Gel Ink Pen-- I used the Uniball Signo UM-153
Black Fine Line Pen- I used the Pigma Micron Black 02

Prismacolor Colored Pencils:
Black, White, 10% Cool Grey, 70% Warm Grey, Cloud Blue, Indigo Blue and a Colorless Blender.

If doing this is any other pencils You will still really want to have a Prismacolor White and Colorless Blender. And then you just need to add Black, light Grey, Medium Grey, Pale Blue, and Dark Blue.

The most important things you need to be successful with any of my doodle gems projects are the willingness to learn and to be easy on yourself as you are learning. We tend to be our worst critics and we need to learn to be kind to ourselves.

How to Draw and Color a Juicy Citrus: Lime

It's time for the January #Coloroftheyear Art Crawl!

This video brings you a Juicy drawing of a lime slice and wedge ready to adorn a Summertime greeting card or barbeque Invitation. You could also put in a simple frame as a lovely piece of Kitchen art!

I show you how to do this lovely project every step of the way in realtime. We will use lovely colors of greens and yellows to create this juicy fruit!

Materials Used in this show:
I share the tools and materials that I Used. You can certainly use any kind of colored pencils- you want a Yellow Green, Medium Green, Olive/Moss Green, Bright Green and possibly a White to use as a blender
Prismacolor Color Pencils:
Colorless Blender, Kelly Green, Chartreuse, Yellow Chartreuse, Apple Green and Moss green
Qor Watercolor Paints (any water color)

This year the color is Greenery. Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings. It is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that make you think of the first days of spring when nature’s greens return after a long colorless winter. Greenery signals people to take a deep breath. Greenery is an omnipresent hue around the world.
A life-affirming shade, Greenery is also emblematic of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality.

I come away with a peaceful heart. My hope is that you will see that You can do this too! Acrylic painting is very forgiving. If something doesn't go right, let it dry and paint right over it. YOu can change your mind, take the painting in a different direction. It is all up to you and your creative spirit!

Below are the Materials needed to make the binder:

Cardboard the same length as above by 1 1/2" wide for the spine
Heavy paper for covering the binder
Duct Tape for hinging the covers to the spine and to reinforce the corners over the cover paper
3 Pieces of ribbon the width of the binder covers and spine these are what will hold the paper in the binder
White glue for attaching covers (Mod Poge, PVA etc)
Fluid Matte Medium or Gloss Medium and Varnish to seal the paper covering
Tools Needed:
Metal edged ruler

Time to Glitter!-Glitter Houses for you to make!

It is a shiny and sparkly time of year.

Time to make it sparkle a little more, -who doesn't love a little Glitter?
This time I'm making this sweet little glitter house.

It only takes a little bit of time, card stock or thin cardboard like cereal boxes or face tissue boxes with pretty patterns, old Christmas cards just about anything that you like the look of or can be painted is fair game! Glue gun and glue sticks, craft knife, scissors, metal edged ruler, white glue or decoupage glue, and the glitter of your choice. I used ultra fine glitter on my examples.

Here is my template pattern to get you started.
Right Click on the image to save to your computer and then print!

There are many references on the internet for Glitter houses also known as Putz houses-

Here are a couple of my favorites:
Little Glitter Houses is an amazing resource!

Do you #lovewinterart?

I sure do #lovewinterart! I'm playing with the great folks at the Creative Arts Collaboration this week from December 9-13. Anything winter art is the theme.

My project for this awesome event is a sweet little snowman..... Trapped in a Snowglobe! I have even created a traceable snowglobe pattern for you if you want to paint it too and it can even be a coloring page if you have little ones that want to do the same art as you!

Here's the Traceable/coloring sheet that you can download to your computer and print out so you can follow along!

To trace on to the canvas just print out on regular paper, rub the BACKSIDE of the paper with chalk or pencil then lay the chalk side down on the canvas and trace over the lines with a ball point pen to transfer the image to the canvas!

Here's the finished painting-

Leave me a comment and let me know what you thought of this lesson! Head over to Youtube and subscribe to my channel too if you want to be notified when I have new videos go up. :)

Remember to get out and do something creative!
