Friday Evening and EDM #2

edm 2 draw a lamp or light sm

It's leftovers for dinner tonight, that gave me time to get this drawing scanned in and posted.

I went to the Provecho Mexican Grill in downtown Vancouver for lunch today. It was someplace that I hadn't been before and I wanted to try them out. Yummy soft corn tacos with grilled chicken and a beef one. Oh yes! I'll be going back again.

So, while I was waiting for my order I started drawing the hanging light. I though it was kinda cool and funky with it's 3 different glass globes covering the light bulbs.

I will say that this was a big challenge. I only got 2 branches of the light done when my food came. I stopped, charged up my batteries with yummy food, when the plate was cleared I finished up the drawing.

I'm working on perspective, it's pretty good but parts are twisted funny and somehow I added a piece the the front and center branch that's not on any of the others. Weird...

Oh well, it was fun and I'm getting more comfortable drawing in public. Two of the workers even came by and looked at some of my stuff. One of them is an artist and he had a few of his images on his phone that he shared too. :)

If you want please let me know what you think!
Cheers, SB

Kathleen, I'm working on 5.5" x 4.25" cut sheets of 125# bright white card (like 2 ply bristol board)

I've been collecting the art cards in a loose book box journal.(altered cigar box)

The different globes really were why I decided to draw this light fixture. :) thanks for the great comment

I think you really did a wonderful job with this and the orange. Those vibrant pencils are fun aren't they?

Love the lamp and how you did it. The orange is lovely too, love its purple shadow! It's cool that you draw in public and share with others!

I'm so impressed by this, especially as you must have worked very quickly. What a lovely way to remember your evening out too!

This drawing caught my eye. I, too, love the different glass shades. It is interesting and quirky. I like it. I like the "blue girl" too. I never drew anything from memory before. Nice drawing.
